THE SCAMP ODYSSEY V - The Final Highlights is the last in the Scamp Trailer Travel Series. The “Highlights” are taken from Scamp Trips in 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2022. Places, local history, experiences and photos are informative and of high quality. Former Scamp books simply did not have the space for them. The “Table of Contents” reveals them all. Nature is emphasized.
In 2012 there are returns to the Tetons and Yellowstone, but many forays other than that: Provo, Sundance, Willard Bay in Utah, Twin Falls, Idaho, The Grand Coulee Dam and its entire story in eastern Washington on the Columbia River. In 2014 and 2017 we travel to Elko, Ely, Austin and the Great Basin in Nevada, Crater Lake in Oregon, a return to beautiful sites on the Pacific, including Newport and the Aquarium, and new campgrounds with great birds. The final trip in 2022 is with daughter Katie and son-in-law Courtney, a return this time to the cold and snowy Tetons and West Yellowstone, a return to our favorite campground at Bannack, Montana, and a final stay at wonderful Palisades Reservoir on the Snake in Idaho.
There is a strong feeling of nostalgia as we end this trip. We sell the Scamp in 2023 and now enjoy the memories from 2004 to 2022. We hope the readers can share our enthusiasm.

The Universe of the "Literatura de Cordel" is Curran's most recent project. It is the English version of a major work published in Brazil in Portuguese in 2011 by Ateliê Editorial, "Retrato do Brasil em Cordel." Curran returns to "Portrait" for several reasons: primary is his strong feeling that the amazingly broad view of Brazil in the twentieth century seen in the thousands of booklets in verse from the "cordel" represents a major aspect of Brazilian culture in that century. Second, because there are many important bodies of folk-popular verse in the Western Tradition, all "distant relatives" of the Greek and Roman Epic Traditions, and because Brazil's folkpopular poetry is one among them, and because a very large reading public interested in such things does not know Portuguese, this volume in English strives to make the tradition available to such readers.
